Non-ablative laser skin rejuvenation procedure

What is non-ablative laser skin resurfacing and how does it work?

Laser non-ablative rejuvenationis a process of rejuvenating the skin with laser energy without damaging the epidermis.

In this case, the laser energy is converted into thermal energy. Controlled thermal stimulation stimulates the extracellular matrix and triggers the formation of collagen.

By interacting with the water molecules contained in the skin cells, the radiation has a tonic and regenerative effect on the skin and initiates the process of its rejuvenation.

The water content in the epidermis is approximately 10-15%, in the deep layers of the skin it is much more - 70-75%. Therefore, during the laser non-ablative rejuvenation procedure, the effect of the rays on the epidermis is minimal.

Passing through the manipulator, the laser beam is divided into microbeams in the form of a network and forms closed columns of coagulation in the deep layers of the skin, located at an equal distance from each other. During the session, the skin cells around the pillars are exposed to heat, which activates the metabolism and promotes cell rejuvenation. Old cells are destroyed, replaced by new ones, which is why it is possible to achieve thislifting effect. The skin gains elasticity, an even tone, and looks younger.

Indications and contraindications

The non-ablative laser rejuvenation procedure is ideal for:

  • removal of visible age changes on the skin - wrinkles, folds, laxity, dryness;
  • removal of age spots;
  • complexion improvement;
  • correction of keloid scars;
  • fight against acne etc.

Laser rejuvenation is not performed if the patient has any of the following contraindications:

  • oncological diseases;
  • inflammatory processes on the skin;
  • exacerbation of chronic disease;
  • pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • immunodeficiency etc.

The decision to perform the laser rejuvenation procedure is made by a specialist after examining the patient.

How is non-ablative laser rejuvenation performed?

Before the session, the skin on the treated area is cleaned, in some cases peeling is also done. The cosmetologist uses a laser beam on the surface of the skin in the problem area, bringing the manipulator closer to the skin.

During the session, the skin does not feel discomfort, thanks to the cooling system built into the manipulator. Therefore, laser rejuvenation does not require additional anesthesia of the treated area.

Session results

After 1-2 days after the laser treatment, the condition of the skin improves significantly. It achieves a uniform and fresh shade, lost elasticity returns, small wrinkles and age spots gradually disappear. Active rejuvenation of skin cells has a tonic and tightening effect, which makes the patient look 5-10 years younger.

In terms of efficiency, the procedure is in no way inferior to the results of plastic surgery. Safety, lack of surgical intervention and postoperative recovery period make this method extremely popular among women and men.
